Steve Scullen, Ph.D.

Windsor Distinguished Professor of Management

Dr. Steve Scullen is the Windsor Distinguished Professor of Management in Drake University College of Business and Public Administration.  He received his Ph.D. in Human Resources Management from the University of Iowa in 1998.  His primary research interests are in performance appraisal and personnel selection, particularly in the context of small applicant pools.  Other interests include psychometrics and structural equation modeling.  His research has been published several highly regarded journals, including Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Research Methods, Human Resource Management Review, Psychological Methods, Structural Equation Modeling, and Journal of Business and Psychology.  He is past editor of Drake Management Review, and currently serves on editorial review boards of Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, and Organizational Research Methods.  Dr. Scullen teaches courses in human resources, compensation & benefits, staffing, and organizational behavior.  Prior to that, he taught in the College of Management at North Carolina State University.  In a previous life, he coached track and cross country at Drake.  He continues his association with Drake athletics, currently serving as the university’s Faculty Athletics Representative.
