For the Principal Center for Global Citizenship's tenth anniversary celebration in 2012, three Drake alumni offered their thoughts on what "life as a global citizen" means to them via video. Click on the links below to explore three perspectives on global citizenship.
Daniela Bermeo-Torres graduated in 2008 with majors in politics, sociology and international relations. She also earned the Global Ambassador certificate through the Center. After graduation, she interned for the Organization of American States in Washington D.C. and then worked on hurricane relief in Haiti with an NGO called TECHO.
Amit Sharma graduated in 2006 with a major in international relations and international business. He earned a Global Ambassador certificate through the Center. After graduation he worked for Drake’s World Languages and Cultures program, then spent a year on Drake’s Teach in China program. He worked in business consulting in India and is now pursuing a Master’s degree in international relations at the University of California at San Diego.
Zachary Nunn graduated in 2002 with a major in international relations and went on to receive a master’s degree in the same field from Cambridge University in England. He is currently working on the staff of the National Security Council in Washington D.C. Note that two Drake students, Amelia Piecuch and Alex Shaner, are featured in Zach’s video.
