- Global Citizens Forum - The Forum is scheduled for March 5-8, 2019, and will invite participants to explore the topic of migration through a series of events including documentary film, a student research symposium, a dynamic keynote speaker, and an experiential activism workshop in partnership with local community agencies.
- Denim Day - Got jeans? Clean out your closet during spring break and donate your unwanted jeans! Drake VIP (Violence Intervention Partners) are organizing Denim Day on April 24. Denim Day began in the 1990s in Italy, after a sexual assault conviction was overturned due to the clothing the victim was wearing (https://www.denimdayinfo.org/why-denim). The Office for Community Engaged Learning is helping to collect jeans to be displayed in groups of 37 across campus as a statement of support and solidarity for the 37 victims of sexual assault every hour. After the event all jeans get donated. If you have jeans to donate to the cause drop them off to the office (1213 25th St, next to Varsity Theater) between now and April 1st.
- National Volunteer Week will be celebrated April 7-13! For more information and a list of events (continually updated), visit https://www.drake.edu/community/volunteer/nationalvolunteerweek/
The office periodically publishes a newsletter with upcoming events and stories about community engaged learning. Below is an archive of those publications.
