Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

For the first time in many years, Drake University is seeking a new leader to serve as Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (CPHS). Our national search aims to recruit a visionary individual with exceptional academic leadership abilities.

CPHS is proud to prepare today’s learners to be tomorrow’s healthcare leaders. The College offers a range of undergraduate and professional degree programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with majors in Clinical & Medical Sciences, Public Health, and Health Care Administration; Master’s in Athletic Training (MAT); Master’s in Health Informatics and Analytics (MHIA); Master’s in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP); Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD); and Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD). The College is starting an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program in Fall 2024. The Dean provides academic, intellectual, and administrative leadership for CPHS and works with key stakeholders to champion the College’s mission to educate future healthcare leaders.

The Dean supports and promotes faculty’s commitment to student learning and engagement, advances faculty scholarship, and fosters service inside and outside the College. Bringing organizational and management experience, the next Dean will demonstrate a history of substantial engagement with pharmacy education, the profession, and the supporting sciences; possess strong interpersonal skills; manage the College’s administration; build bridges to the greater university and professional communities; partner with donors and philanthropic entities to effectively engage in fundraising; advance the professional development of all students; and possess a commitment to and track record of outcomes fostering a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
