The Office of the Deputy Provost for Academic Affairs provides support to Drake University faculty at every stage of their professional careers.
Understanding that student success depends on faculty success, the DPAA encourages faculty success in pedagogy, research and creative arts, and university service-leadership. Building on a model of work-life integration, the DPAA offers programming to assist faculty and staff in thriving as members of our university community.
In service of the mission of the university, the Deputy Provost for Academic Affairs oversees the Center for Teaching Excellence, hosts and facilitates conversation and action to integrate strategic initiatives like the Drake Curriculum and all of its components, external grant seeking, and foundation support, and graduate enrollment with university commitments to globalization, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.
