The Friends of Drake Arts offer grants of up to $500 per student per school year to create opportunities for fine arts students to expand their Drake experience by positively impacting their ability to collaborate with all areas of the university, connect with partners in the Greater Des Moines community, and travel to capitalize on unique experiences to enhance their fine arts education. Students and faculty are both eligible to apply for funds, but all applications must demonstrate student involvement in the planning process.
2021 - 2022 Deadlines
Grants will be awarded by FDA on an ongoing basis, with grant reviews bimonthly according by the deadlines below. If an application is submitted following the deadline, it will be reviewed for the following round.
Applicants will be notified of funding decisions within 2 weeks of each funding deadline.
Following a successful award, grantees are required to submit a brief report on their experience indicating 1) the use of funds, with receipts attached for expenses, and 2) the quality of the learning, research, performance activity and impact on Drake University. The report is due to the fine arts coordinator no later than one month after the completion of the funded activity by emailing friendsofdrakearts@drake.edu.

Submit a budget to the fine arts coordinator at friendsofdrakearts@drake.edu after completing the application. A FDA Budget Template has been provided as a guide to consider all expenses and revenue sources for your endeavor.
Applications will be reviewed by the Friends of Drake Arts Steering Committee following each grant deadline. Evaluations will be based on the criteria outlined in the included scoring rubric and availability of funds. All decisions are final.
