Christopher Porter, an assistant professor in mathematics, has been on faculty at Drake since 2016. He received his Ph.D. in mathematics and philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in 2012 as part of the joint program in logic and the foundations of mathematics. In addition, Porter received his undergraduate degree from Gonzaga University. Prior to coming to Drake, Porter he was an NSF international postdoctoral fellow at Université Paris 7 from 2012 to 2014 and a postdoctoral associate at the University of Florida from 2014 to 2016.
Porter's research is in the areas of computability theory (specifically, algorithmic randomness) and the philosophy of mathematics.
