Sara Chari is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics. She received her PhD from Dartmouth College. Prior to Drake, she taught at Bates College in Maine as a Visiting Assistant Professor.
Her research is in the intersection of algebra and number theory (but not quite algebraic number theory!) This involves quaternion algebras, quarternion orders, and their higher-dimensional analogues. Her most recent project generalizes origami constructions (sets of points in a plane created by intersecting lines using a fixed set of angles) to higher dimensions, including quaternion algebras.
