The Chamber Choir is Drake's most select choral ensemble, with membership drawn from the Drake Choir. The Chamber Choir performs on campus at least four times each year and is the featured ensemble for the annual madrigal dinners (/music/ensembles/drakechoruses/chamberchoir/madrigaldinners/). The ensemble tours regionally each spring and internationally every four years. In January 2018 the choir performed throughout England, singing at St. Paul’s Cathedral and St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London, at Cambridge University, the Old Naval College Chapel in Greenwich, and the cathedrals of Coventry and Ely. Read blogs and view photos of the tour at drakechoruses.wp.drake.edu.
The Chamber Choir has been chosen by audition to perform on the programs of the American Choral Directors Association North Central Division conference and the Iowa Choral Directors Association Iowa Showcase.
Chamber Choir rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30-1:45 p.m. Auditions for the ensemble take place in April for returning students and during the weekend before the fall semester begins for new students.
