Career Services

Professional & Career Development Services (PCDS) is excited for students to return to campus this fall. We will continue to offer the option of virtual appointments with our staff through TEAMS or via phone, as well as 1:1 face-to-face appointments. Information regarding our events is available on our website.  Events will be added as details for each event are finalized.

Did you know that nationally 87% of recent graduates feel they have the soft skills necessary for their job while only 50% of managers feel the same way? (PayScale, 2016)  Additionally, 67% of HR managers said they would hire a candidate with strong soft skills even if technical abilities were lacking, while only 9% would hire someone with strong technical credentials but weak soft skills. (International Association of Administrative Professionals, Office Team, and HR.com) At Drake, Professional and Career Development Services (PCDS) has listened to employers, and we provide coaching on True Blue Skills, the career competencies employers desire. Encourage your student to meet with PCDS to learn to tell their story using the True Blue Skills.
