State Schools of Character - from

Eagle Grove - SSOC 2015

‌State Schools of Character are selected by in collaboration with state sponsors for having reached a standard of excellence within their states in the area of character development. Their applications are forwarded to the national level for consideration.

State Schools of Character:

  • Hold their State School of Character designation for 3 years
  • Serve as models of excellence within their states where they share character education best practices as part of a state-wide network of schools of character
  • Receive banners and other recognition at celebrations held in their honor by their state sponsors
  • Are eligible for national recognition and technical assistance or other guidance from in collaboration with their state sponsors to help them achieve the National School of Character designation


SSOC Award Winners will receive a SSOC Award Banner and will be recognized at the Iowa Character Awards dinner.
