SJMC student wins PR scholarship

The Iowa chapter of the Public Relations Society of America each year recognizes an outstanding PRSSA student with the $1,500 Ferne Bonomi and Dr. Henry Milam Undergraduate Scholarship. The 2021 PRSSA student scholarship winner is Justine Drake, a student at Drake University. Justine is a senior with a double major in public relations and digital media production. She is also minoring in graphic design and leadership education and development. Justine joined the PRSSA Chapter at Drake University in 2018. Upon completing her degree, Justine intends to launch her professional career in the Des Moines area. She plans to join PRSA and work toward her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR).

Drake students eligible for leadership scholarship

Phillips University Legacy Foundation is pleased to announce that starting Jan. 1, 2022, it will be accepting new applications for its Undergraduate Scholarship and Leadership Development Program for the 2022-23 academic year.

This program makes annual awards of up to $8,500 per year to full-time undergraduate students pursuing a liberal arts education at any of the 17 colleges or universities currently or historically related with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) — including Drake. Recipients are chosen based on their academic achievements, their present and potential leadership in the church, their communities and their chosen vocation. The program is available to incoming freshmen as well as college sophomores, juniors and seniors. Recipients are required to complete a Volunteer Leadership Project and attend a Legacy Scholars Leadership Development Conference for training annually. See the scholarship website for more information.
