Depending on the program and site, a semester or year abroad on a Partner Program is comparable in cost to a semester or year at Drake.
Financial aid is available for study abroad, and the Office of Student Financial Planning reviews each student's package individually. Drake University allows students to take 100% of their loans, grants, and scholarships on approved Partner Programs.
Supplemental study abroad scholarship money is available to students demonstrating exceptional financial need, as funds allow.

If you are applying to an Partner Partner program, you are likely eligible for their scholarships and grants. These may be need or merit-based awards, and require a separate application directly with the Partner. In most cases, Drake University financial aid cannot be used to support study in a country where the State Department has issued a travel warning. Exceptions may be granted by the Provost after consultation with the Risk Assessment Committee.
