Soprano Abby Kate Boeschen is originally from the Des Moines area, but has already performed on stages across the United States and Europe. Notable performance credits include Gretel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel and Susanna in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro with Drake Opera Theatre (2022-2023), Susanna and Barbarina in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro with Luke Housner's Summer Workshop at the Academy of Vocal Arts (2022), and First Spirit (cover) and Ensemble in Des Moines Metro Opera's production of Mozart's The Magic Flute (2022). Ms. Boeschen is also five-time winner and multiple-time finalist of both the state and regional NATS competitions, and has been a featured performer in several masterclasses at Drake University, singing for renowned clinicians such as Melissa Wegner, Francesca Condeluci, and Eric Ferring.

Ms. Boeschen graduated summa cum laude from Drake University in May of 2023 with her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, having studied voice under Professor Leanne Freeman-Miller. Ms. Boeschen also interned with the Drake University Voice Intensive (DUVI) in the summer of 2023 and will be serving as the Assistant Director and Choreographer for the Drake Opera Theatre's production of Die Fledermaus in the winter of 2024. Ms. Boeschen has been teaching private voice lessons for the past two years and is very excited to join the talented faculty at DUCSOM!
