Band Informational Meeting and Barbeque

All students interested in participating in the Drake University Bands, including marching band, concert band, jazz ensemble and Bulldog Brass, are invited to attend. Following a brief organizational meeting and introductory marching band rehearsal for marching band members, all interested students are invited to attend an informal barbeque/get together with members of the Drake Bands. Attendance is required for all incoming instrumental music majors and those receiving instrumental music scholarships. Theatre at Drake University
There will be an informational meeting about Drake Theatre on Sunday, August 25, at 12:00 noon in Studio 55, Fine Arts Center. Auditions will follow.

Honors Student Council Picnic

Medbury Hall/Jewett Hall Lawn (Rain location: Medbury Honors Lounge)

A chance for students to see old friends and make new ones! Free food and drink. All are welcome.

Pharmacy White Coat Ceremony
The Pharmacy White Coat Ceremony is held in Sheslow Auditorium at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25. All new Pharmacy students are strongly encouraged to attend.

Drake Choirs
The Drake Department of Music invites you to become a member of one of its excellent choirs. The choral program provides rehearsal and performance opportunities for students with a wide variety of skill and experience levels. Each of the choirs is open to all Drake students. Auditions for Drake's three select choruses (Drake Choir, Chamber Choir, Chorale) will take place on Thursday, August 22 - Sunday, August 25. You may join the Drake University/Community Chorus without audition by simply coming to the first rehearsal on Tuesday, August 27.

Women’s Crew
Drake Women’s Crew will be holding an informational meeting. We are looking for women who are interested in being part of a Division One Varsity Rowing Team. There is no experience required, and there is no fee to participate. Our team competes nationally with the top ranked schools in the country. Practice is Monday-Friday either afternoon or morning depending on your class schedule. Drake University’s Principal Financial Group Center for Global Citizenship (PFGCGC) will host a discussion on the Keystone XL Pipeline initiative in collaboration with the Iowa Energy Forum. General James Jones, a former national security advisor, will discuss the benefits of the pipeline initiative.
