Sang Eun Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art and Design. She holds a Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction and an M.F.A. in Graphic Design from Iowa State University, as well as an M.F.A. in Printmaking from Southern Illinois University. Lee teaches across all levels of the graphic design curriculum, including courses in interactive design, user experience, visual identity, packaging, and design theory. Her research explores inclusive and equitable design pedagogy through intersectional frameworks, focusing on equity-driven approaches that help students recognize bias and design with awareness of diverse user experiences. With a background in printmaking, her creative practice bridges traditional and digital processes to explore form, materiality, and the ways design communicates cultural and social narratives. Her research has been presented at national and international conferences, including the HCI International Conference, the UCDA Design Conference, and Design Principles & Practices.
