COMMENCEMENT AT DRAKE UNIVERSITY
Events for all students, both undergraduate and graduates
All events will be held at the Drake Knapp Center, 2601 Forest Avenue, unless otherwise noted:
President's Reception for all graduates and their families – Friday, May 15, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. held in Parent’s Hall, Olmsted Center. This event is for all graduates and their families, hosted by President David Maxwell and Madeleine Maxwell. There is no charge and the attire is dress casual.
Commencement Lunch – Saturday, May 16, from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Hubbell Dining Hall. Tickets are $5.75 in advance (starting in April), $6.75 at the door. Students may use meal card. More information will be contained in an invitation from the President’s Office in April.
The 128th Commencement Ceremony for Undergraduate Degree Recipients – Saturday, May 15, at 10 a.m. (approximate length 2 hours.) Students check in at the Bell Center gym by 9:15; doors will open at 8:30 a.m. Instructions and announcements for the processional and the recessional will be at 9:30 a.m.
Pharmacy Hooding Ceremony - Friday, May 15, at 4 p.m. All participants should check in by 3:15 in the Bell Center gym. Further details for this event will be distributed via email from the College of Pharmacy. Questions may be directed to the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Dean's Office at 271-3018.
The Law School Commencement – Friday, May 15, at 7 p.m. Students will line up in the Law School at 5:45 p.m. Processional begins at 6:45. Knapp Center opens for guests at 6:00 p.m. Further details on this ceremony are available in the Law School Dean's Office, or call 271-2057. A reception will follow at the Marriott Hotel, 700 Grand Ave, Des Moines.
