Program Overview

The Drake University Artificial Intelligence (AI) major is an interdisciplinary program in the College of Arts and Sciences that comprises courses from Computer Science & Math, Arts & Humanities, and Business & Law. Given both the business demand for the advancement of automation and artificial intelligence in a number of industries and Drake’s record of success in combining liberal arts education with professional preparation, we are well positioned to develop and sustain a program in AI. 


Curriculum Requirements

The proposed AI degree consists of 17 core courses from across the university. All courses will be offered in accordance with Drake guidelines and policies. New courses are marked with an *.

Optional Concentrations

The program outlined above would graduate a student from the College of Arts and Sciences with a degree in Artificial Intelligence. If a student is interested, they would have the option to add on an additional Artificial Intelligence concentration in a few select areas. These concentrations are only available to AI majors and would show up on the student transcripts as a clear area of study. A concentration would require 12 additional credit hours of study.
