Grants

The Center for the Humanities supports research, creative activity, teaching, and engagement with the humanities through a variety of grant programs in the following categories:

Programming Grants provide support for conferences, invited speakers, and other events for the community both on and off campus.

Research Grants provide funding for research-related materials, services, and travel; publication costs (including indexing and subvention); and course reassignments.

To apply, please email your application and CV as attachments to humanities.center@drake.edu (please CC the Director). The first two items in all applications should be (1) the amount requested and (2) the budget breakdown for the amount requested. We will also eagerly read about your project's details, timeline, and its importance to the Humanities at Drake and beyond, but we can only approve requests that include a total amount requested and a budget breakdown. 

The Board meets on the first Friday of each month in the fall and spring terms. To ensure consideration at any given meeting, applications must be submitted one week in advance of the meeting date.
