The Center for the Humanities supports research, creative activity, teaching, and engagement with the humanities through a variety of grant programs in the following categories:

Programming Grants provide support for conferences, invited speakers, and other events for the community both on and off campus.

Research Grants provide funding for research-related materials, services, and travel; publication costs (including indexing and subvention); and course reassignments.

To apply for any of the grants above, submit all materials to the Director. The Board meets on the first Friday of each month in the fall and spring terms. To ensure consideration at any given meeting, applications must be submitted one week in advance of the meeting date. Visit the webpages for specific grants to find dates and deadlines for upcoming terms and full instructions for applications. Please visit our page for Frequently Asked Questions for more information on events, programs, and activities eligible for funding, or contact the Director with questions.
