Drake Constitutional Law Center hosts Aziz Z. Huq for Distinguished Lecture Series

This year’s Constitutional Law Center Distinguished Lecture Series guest speaker is Aziz Z. Huq, Frank and Bernice J. Greenberg Professor of Law at the University of Chicago Law School. Huq will present “Into the Dual State,” exploring contemporary constitutional challenges as part of the Center’s annual lecture series. The lecture will take place April 2 at 3 p.m. in the James Albert Classroom at Drake University Law School. The in-person event is free and open to the public. “Professor Huq is a world-renowned expert on the rule of law, the problem of democratic erosion, and constitutionalism,” said Professor Miguel Schor, Associate Director of the Drake University Constitutional Law Center, and Class of 1977 Distinguished Scholar Drake University School of Law.
Huq is a scholar of U.S. and comparative constitutional law. His recent work concerns democratic backsliding and the regulation of artificial intelligence. His award-winning scholarship is published in several books and in leading law, social science, and political science journals. He also writes for Politico, the Washington Post, the New York Times, and many other non-specialist publications.
The Constitutional Law Center’s Distinguished Lecture Series brings the nation’s leading constitutional scholars to campus to engage students and faculty on important issues of the day. Speakers deliver a formal lecture, teach a class and meet with students in informal settings.
