(Adopted July 27, 2015)
Law School faculty, staff, and officially recognized student organizations may reserve the Law Library’s display area for use in highlighting activities and current events of interest to members of the Law School.
The library will provide a selection of sign holders to assist in creating the display. The reservation requestor is responsible for the design, creation, set-up, and tear-down of all display content and supplies.
Displays must be dismantled and the sign holders returned to the Information Desk by the library’s closing time on the final day of the reservation booking. The library is unable to retain or store display materials after the close of the display.
The area available for displays is comprised of the two rectangular tables that sit along the glass windows between the entrance doors into the library. Display materials may not be posted on the glass windows.
Space is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests must be submitted at least five days in advance of the booking start date using the online reservation form. Before submitting the form, consult the reservation calendar to confirm the display area is available on the dates you need.
Unless there are special circumstances, a display period should be no longer than three weeks. The Law Library periodically reserves these tables for use in promoting library events or materials and is subject to the same first-come, first-served policy.
The Library reserves the right to deny any display request or rescind permission previously granted. The library reserves the right to modify a display’s arrangement if necessary for safety or library accessibility.
Library displays may not be used, directly or indirectly, to promote a commercial product or service; to support or oppose any religious belief or religion, political candidate, or viewpoint; or to defame or incite violence. The library does not advocate or endorse the viewpoints of exhibits not created by the Law Library.
