Commencement Ceremonies


Update:  On March 25, Drake University announced the difficult decision to cancel its May commencement exercises as a result of the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus pandemic. More information related to the Law School Commencement Ceremony will be communicated soon. 


Saturday, May 16, 2020

7 p.m.
Knapp Center

Graduates line up alphabetically in the Law School at 6 p.m. The bagpipe procession from Opperman Hall to the Knapp Center begins at 6:45 p.m. The ceremony typically lasts less than 90 minutes and is followed by a reception at the Courtside Club in Shivers Practice Facility. All are invited to attend the reception. 

The Knapp Center opens for guests at 6 p.m. No tickets are needed, and there is no limit to the number of guests that may attend for a graduate.

University Bookstore staff will be on site to accept return of cap and gown rentals immediately following the ceremony.
