Students who participate in the Donald V. Adams Leadership Institute receive exclusive leadership training, personalized coaching appointments, professional development, peer mentoring, and scholarship opportunities. In addition, students who want to invest additional time applying their leadership skills can apply to be an ALI Peer Mentor; a paid student leadership role within the Institute as a junior or a senior. Most importantly, students in the Institute are given the opportunity to build community with other like-minded leaders on campus. Here’s what an ALI graduate had to say about their experience:
“This program has helped me be able to better articulate what moments of my leadership experience have been most impactful in developing me into the leader and individual I am today. In addition, I have learned how similar, yet different my leadership experience has been to other leaders on Drake's campus. By participating in the Institute, I am now able to clearly understand the values that are important to me and the specific reason of why those values are important. I feel more prepared and confident to go into interviews in post-graduate life and explain the importance of my leadership experiences, the skills I have learned from my various leadership experiences (small and large), and how Drake played a role in molding me into the leader I am today.”
