Management Minor

Our Management minor helps students gain valuable knowledge and skills in core managerial areas, such as human resources, logistics and operations, international management, and the leadership of teams and organizations. The Management minor works well for CBPA students who wish to gain these managerial skills, as a compliment to the function skills they may be getting through majors such as Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Marketing, and others. Moreover, the Management minor is perfect for non-CBPA students who wish to gain core managerial skills because they are preparing for a career in fields that require managerial skills (e.g., healthcare, public relations, educational leadership). Similarly, the minor is essential for students who wish to turn their undergraduate education into a business (e.g., a psychology student who wishes to start their own practice; a kinesiology student who wishes to open their own gym; a religious studies student who wishes to work in church management).

Whatever your career plans may be, a Management minor is always useful across sectors of the economy and personal career aspirations.

This minor is available to all Drake students. Requirements can be found on the Drake Catalog.

Entrepreneurship Minor

Our Entrepreneurship minor is designed to meet the needs of all Drake students who have been bitten by that entrepreneurial, I-want-to-put-my-mark-on-the-world bug! The minor is designed to take you through the process of starting and running your own business. You will gain skills from a combination of classroom instruction (there are three entrepreneurship courses you will need to take, plus an additional course in marketing), and hands-on learning. The hands-on learning component of our Entrepreneurship program involves opportunities to pitch your own business ideas to venture capitalists, to obtain a mentor who would provide personal guidance and help nurture your entrepreneurial project, to participate in internships with our very own Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Human-Centered Design, and more. This minor is essential for any student who wishes to turn their undergraduate education into a business  -- a psychology student who wishes to start their own counseling practice; a kinesiology student who wishes to open their own gym; a finance student who wishes to create a personal finance consultancy. Additionally, because students learn how to obtain seed money, how to run finances, how to market and fundraise, and more, the Entrepreneurship minor is useful to students who wish to start their own non-profit organization. Be an entrepreneur, make a difference, and let our Entrepreneurship minor help you get there!

This minor is available to all Drake students.
