Monday, August 26th

Griff II Back-to-School Photos 

Helmick Commons, 8:15-10:00am 

Kick off your school year right by visiting Griff II and taking pictures to send your loved ones! 

**Note: If it is too warm outside, Griff II will be inside Olmsted

Get Fierce with Student Senate

Helmick Commons, 12:15-1:00 pm

The perfect way to start your afternoon is to GET FIERCE with your senators! Join them for drinks provided by Fierce Nutrition, FREE while supplies last!

Pomerantz Stage, 1:00pm-3:00pm 

It is important to find time to pause, calm, and soothe, especially the first two weeks of classes. We will be playing music, offering tools to manage your mental health, and incorporate art therapy. You can stop by our tables to chat or simply find a peaceful place to pause or study. We hope to see you there.

Provost Mattison is joining in on the fun with Thelma’s Ice Cream sandwiches, FREE for students as supplies last!

Prize Patrol with Jerry Parker

Around Campus, 9:15-11:15am

On Wednesdays, we wear DRAKE BLUE. Keep an eye out for Jerry Parker on his golf cart while walking to class! He’ll only stop and give you a prize if you’re wearing Drake Blue!

Helmick Commons/Parents Hall, 5:00-7:00pm

Join the social fraternities, sororities, and SAB as they prepare for a wonderful recruitment season! Meet members of the FSL community and play yard games!

Study Abroad Fair 

Pomerantz Stage, 10:30am-2:00 pm

If you’ve ever wondered about study abroad, come learn more about the opportunities Drake has for you to take your education world-wide! We’ll have representatives from many of our partners who would love to tell you about programs that might interest you, as well as information about scholarships & financial aid. This is your one-stop-shop to get started on planning your next adventure abroad! 

Volunteering @ Findley Elementary Back to School Night 

Findley Elementary School,  
5:30pm-7:00pm 

Drake University has “adopted” the first-grade class at Findley Elementary School, and we have an opportunity to welcome them and their families to first grade at “Back to School Night.” Join the Office of Community Engaged Learning to Interact with the kids and families, hand out Bulldog crowns, and more.

Drake University Football vs. Quincy

Drake Stadium, 6:30-9:30 pm

Come cheer on the Drake University Football team in their match against Quincy!

Activities Fair

Upper Olmsted, 4:00-6:00 pm 

Find your new home away from home! Pay a visit to the Activities Fair to become further acquainted with Drake’s 150+ student organizations.

SAB Free Movie Friday 

Sussman Theatre, 8:00pm 

Free Movie Friday is coming back strong with Inside Out 2! Join SAB for this exciting and somehow relatable movie sequel to the original Inside Out. 

 

Tuesday, September 3rd

Recreation Fest & Services Fair 

Helmick Commons, 3:00pm-5:00pm 

Learn about the different resources that Drake students have access to while also completing carnival-style games! Some of the departments attending will be Recreational Services, Career Services, Global Engagement, Alumni Relations, and many more. Check it out!
