A Global Partnership
QU-Drake United College is located on the campus of Qingdao University—one of China’s premier educational institutions with 40,000 students. Located in Shandong Province in Northeastern China, Qingdao is a vibrant port city with a population of more than 6 million.
In addition to English-language coursework with Drake faculty, students also learn from Qingdao faculty, providing a blend of American and Chinese educational cultures.
About the Program: Data Analytics or Biology
Students enrolled at QU-Drake United College earn a dual degree from both Drake University and Qingdao University. Drake degree options include a Bachelor of Arts in Biology or a Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics. Students may choose to complete all four years of instruction on the Qingdao University campus, or they can complete their junior and senior years of study in the United States on Drake’s campus in Des Moines, Iowa.
With faculty from both institutions guiding your education, you will gain international perspectives in your field, build relationships with peers in both China and the U.S., strengthen your connections and networks, and be prepared to lead in global industries.
Bachelor of Arts in Biology
Our Bachelor of Arts in Biology degree emphasizes discovery through hands-on, inquiry-based learning. Taught at Qingdao University’s School of Basic Medicine, students design experiments, interpret data, and work closely with faculty whose expertise spans molecular biology, anatomy and physiology, evolution, and more. Plus, students who complete their undergraduate Biology studies at Drake have the opportunity to engage in independent research with one-on-one mentoring by Drake faculty, select from a variety of additional preprofessional courses, engage in clinical- or research-focused internships, and pursue doctorate degrees in Pharmacy or Occupational Therapy.
Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics
Our Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics is designed for students who want to turn data into insight. You will gain strong foundations in statistics, computer science, data management, and ethical reasoning. You will also learn how data is stored, accessed, modeled, and interpreted—and how to communicate it with others.
Optional Study at Drake’s U.S. Campus
As a QU-Drake United College student, you will have the opportunity to complete your junior and/or senior years of study at Drake University’s campus in Des Moines, Iowa—a safe, vibrant capital city in the heart of the United States.
