ABSN Pinning Program 2025
Nursing Pinning Ceremony Livestream
Nursing students, congratulations on reaching the end of your didactic course work as part of the Nursing program! To celebrate this accomplishment, please plan to attend the Nursing Pinning Ceremony on Friday, August 8, 2025 in Sheslow Auditorium, Old Main at 4:00 p.m.
- This event is open to the public and we would love for your families and friends to join us if they are able! Parking will be available on the perimeter streets of campus—please tell your guests to budget some time to find parking if needed, though since it is summer, there should be plenty of options along 25th or Forest. They are also welcome to join us via livestream, and a link to the livestream will be posted at the top of this page on the day of the event.
- Professional/business dress attire is expected for this ceremony. Please be cognizant of heel height and skirt length, as you will be walking up and down stairs in Sheslow.
- Please arrive to Sheslow Auditorium by 3:45 p.m. and find your seat and name card in the middle lower section of Sheslow. You will be seated in alphabetical order by last name and there will be an empty seat next to you, which brings me to my next point.
- Nursing pinning ceremonies require the nursing student to select a family member, friend, or mentor that is attending the ceremony to come with them to the stage when it is time to be pinned. This individual will be the one to present the student with their pin during the ceremony.
- You will be ushered to the stage and announced. There will also be photos taken as you cross the stage and as your pin is presented to you by your guest.
If you are NOT able to attend this ceremony, please send an email to Shelby Nelson at to let us know so that we can make proper preparations for the ceremony.
