You may vote for four candidates. Please note, according to the Faculty Senate Rules and Regulations, only one senator may serve from any one college or school. While you are certainly free to vote for several candidates within one unit, only the top candidate from that unit may be declared a winner.

Claire Muselman | Zimpleman / SOE | I am honored to self-nominate for the Faculty Senate at Drake, leveraging my unique dual appointment in the College of Business and School of Education. My diverse teaching experience across undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs equips me with a broad academic and student needs perspective. I am committed to fostering a collaborative environment that bridges various disciplines, enhancing our community's educational excellence. Serving on the Senate, I aim to advocate for innovative teaching methods, interdisciplinary integration, and policies that support our faculty and students' growth. Together, we can shape a vibrant future for Drake. |
Ryan Stoldt | SJMC | I currently serve as an At-Large Senator for the 2023-2024 year, and I hope to continue serving on Drake Senate. I care deeply about balancing the needs of the university with the experiences of faculty, staff, and students. I approach all of this from a critical cultural perspective. |
Carrie Koenigsfeld | CPHS | I have had the pleasure to serve this University as a faculty member since 1999. I am a clinical faculty member in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, where I provide on-site practical teaching, as well as teaching in the classroom. I have served on numerous committees over the years, both at the college and university level, and I understand the importance of voices being heard. Throughout my 24 years at Drake, many changes and challenges have been faced; however, consistent throughout this time has been the commitment of our administration, faculty, and staff to academic excellence. I seek this opportunity to serve on the Faculty Senate to give back and serve in a pivotal time where we plan for our and our students’ futures. |
Nate Newman | CPHS | I have served in several leadership positions across campus, including Department Chair, Chair of the Admissions, Retention, and Financial Aid Committee, and facilitator for Drake’s Quality Initiative for HLC accreditation. These positions have allowed me to collaborate with faculty across campus, develop as a leader who can build and reach consensus, and understand the current initiatives/issues on campus. As your Faculty Senator, I am committed to communicating and collaborating to ensure I represent your voice in the shared governance process. |
Gustavo Reinoso | CPHS | Although I am relatively new at Drake, I bring nearly 30 years of professional experience. My background includes a decade as a faculty member, both as an associate professor at Nova Southeastern University in Florida and as an adjunct at the University of Southern California. I've taught professionals in over 20 countries, gaining exposure to diverse academic backgrounds and academic institutions. As a foreign-born, Hispanic male, I offer a unique perspective in healthcare, academia, and my field. I am confident that my extensive experience and diverse background can provide valuable insights to the Senate. |
Geoffrey Wall | CPHS | I would be honored to serve as an at-large senate member. I have been at Drake for 25 years and have been privileged to serve on many College and University committees. I feel my experience in the Academy, as well as within Health Systems in the Des Moines area, would give me a unique perspective to support faculty during this challenging time. Thank you for considering my candidacy. |
David Courard-Hauri | A&S - Natural Sciences | I have served on the Faculty Senate often in the past and would be fine with doing so again. |
Amy Letter | A&S - Humanities | I have not yet served as a faculty senator during my 12 years at Drake. I believe serving in the Senate is a duty all should accept at some point or another. Therefore I put my hand into the ring in the spirit of civic duty, in hopes that I can contribute towards the continued successful operation of campus academics. |
Sandi Patton-Imani | A&S - Social Sciences | I am disturbed by the state of the university budget and want to be involved in putting Drake in a better position for the future. Too many decisions seem to be made without faculty approval and I would like to be involved in faculty governance. |
Maria Valdovinos | A&S - Natural Sciences | I am a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience and have been at Drake since 2005. Throughout my time here, I have had the opportunity to collaborate in various capacities with faculty and staff across colleges and departments. I also served on the Faculty Senate for one term in the 2010s. My decision to run as an at-large representative stems from a desire to advocate for and amplify faculty voices. I appreciate the work our colleagues have done this past year and see an opportunity to raise critical questions and ensure accountability for the betterment of our academic institution. |
Note: Regular Faculty Senate meetings will be held via Zoom for academic year 2024 – 2025.
Meeting passcode will be provided with the agenda for each meeting.
