Drake Law School offers information about job and career fairs across the country.

Drake Law hosts an annual career fair for governmental agencies and nonprofit organizations. Students have a chance to visit on an informal basis and learn about great summer and post-graduate opportunities. Practice Areas Career Fairs

FEBRUARY

Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference (MPILCC)
February 3, 2024 
Virtual

The Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference (MPILCC), the largest public interest legal job fair in the Midwest, enables employers from public interest and government organizations to meet with J.D. students for a day of interviews and informal networking. MPILCC is open to students from law schools in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.  Each year, MPILCC attracts over 50 employers for on-site interviews, the Table Talk networking program, and resume solicitation. From over fifteen hundred student registrants, almost 300 students representing about 40 law schools attend the conference. The conference is free to employers and students.

This year the conference is entirely virtual. MPILCC will provide the software and platform for video interviews.

Sports Industry Networking and Career Conference
February 23 - 24, 2024
Washington, D.C.

SINC is the premier sports industry conference where hundreds of students come together to learn about the sports industry and network with well-known leaders from across the industry.  At SINC students will connect with friends and colleagues, and meet sports industry professionals in a buzzing, high-energy setting designed specifically for peer-to-peer networking.

MARCH

2024 Spring Defender Career Fest

The Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy (“DPA”) invites third-year law students who are looking to change the world to apply to attend the 2024 Spring Defender Career Fest to be held on March 9, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky.

APRIL

The Missouri State Public Defender system is hosting a Virtual Career Fair for attorneys on Tuesday, April 30th. The webinar will start at 10am and conclude by noon. Join us for information about training and benefits, as well as an attorney panel with representatives from several of our offices across the state. We are currently hiring attorneys in many offices statewide. For a list of our current vacancies and to submit an application, please visit our MOCareers page. JULY

Loyola University Patent Law Interview Program
July 18-19, 2024

Registration is now open. Please register on Symplicity by March 26 or email Lyra Halsten, Program Coordinator at lyra.halsten@drake.edu if you have any questions.   

Each summer this program brings together patent law employers, 2L and 3L students, and LL.M. students in intellectual property programs. The program is entirely employer-selected with most employers preferring patent bar eligible students. There is a student registration fee to complete online registration. Drake Law School will pay for the registration.

Southeastern Intellectual Property Job Fair

SIPJF undertakes a multi-faceted approach to ensure that students are gaining the best employment opportunities and employers are procuring the brightest future members of the IP community. Hosted by the Georgia Intellectual Property Alliance.

AUGUST

NACC Annual Child Welfare Law Career Fair

NACC’s Child Welfare Law Career Fair promotes careers in child welfare law offices and agencies for law students, recent grads, and new attorneys. Additionally, the Career Fair offers the opportunity to network with NACC members and law office leaders from across the country.

OCTOBER

Equal Justice Works Conference & Career Fair
October 10-12, 2024 (Career Fair only)

This is the nation’s largest public interest career fair, with more than 1,200 students and 160 employers. The event includes interviews, workshops on public interest careers, job search advice, networking, resume and cover letter review, mock interviews, and more. Employers conduct interviews for internships and full-time jobs and meet with students in informal "table talk" discussions of public interest legal opportunities.

National LGBTQ+ Bar 2nd Annual Virtual Career Fair and Diversity  Program for Small & Mid-Size Firms

Whether you are interested in public interest, private practice, or non-profit sector work, this virtual career fair is the perfect opportunity to provide access to LGBTQ+ friendly employers and increase diversity within your local legal community, as well as round out career access for those of you not seeking a large firm career. Hispanic Bar Association Job Fair
March 24-26, 2022
Chicago, IL

This job fair is in conjunction with the HNBA’s Annual Convention and is an excellent employment resource for law students and lawyers. Participants also have the opportunity to interact with leading Hispanic lawyers and to participate in enriching continuing legal education programs.

Minority Corporate Counsel Association Diversity Career Fair

Our participating employers are seeking diverse candidates for junior, mid-career, and executive positions. MCCA takes an inclusive approach to the definition of “diversity” that includes race/ ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability status and military veterans.  During the event, candidates can connect directly with employers to learn more about the organizations and search numerous open employment opportunities.

JUNE

Indianapolis Diversity Job Fair
June 5-6, 2024

The Indianapolis Bar Association invites students who represent all aspects of diversity and are looking for a one-of-a-kind legal community in Indianapolis. The career fair includes a luncheon with a keynote speaker. Employers include legal employers from large, medium, and small firms, as well as government agencies, corporations, and members of the judiciary.

Open to full- and part-time 1L, 2L, 3L students and post-graduate, early career attorneys, Registration extended through May 2.

Boston Lawyers Group Annual Diversity Fair

The Boston Lawyers Group is a consortium of over 40 of the largest law firms, government agencies, and corporations in Boston with a mission of promoting the hiring of 2L and 3L students, retention, and professional development of attorneys of color in its member organizations.

Southeastern Minority Job Fair

The Southeastern Minority Job Fair, or SEMJF, is a legal interview program which brings together employers from all over the country and diverse students from more than 50 law schools in the southeastern United States.  It is one of the oldest and largest events of its kind in the country.

Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair
July 18 -19, 2024
Kansas City, MO

The 20th Annual Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair (HDLJF) will be held at Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Headquarters KCMBA on July 18 & 19.  In celebration of the 20th Annual Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair, we are substantially upgrading the experience and exposure to Kanas City.  This entails an optional Thursday bus tour featuring the sites, history, and culture of Kansas City, followed by the Kansas City Unity Celebration at KCMBA that evening, where members of our bar including KC’s five Diversity Bar Associations will be present to welcome the candidates to our community.   The HDLJF is designed to introduce diverse candidates to career opportunities with legal employers in Kansas City and the surrounding areas.  Students who are interested in becoming part of Kansas City’s dynamic legal community should strongly consider attending this event.  Students who will be returning to school and graduated in 2024 are eligible to attend the job fair, as employers will be interviewing for both summer and post-graduate positions.

Cook County Bar Association Minority Law Student Job Fair

This job fair is primarily designed to obtain positions for minority law students who are rising 2Ls and 3Ls. The job fair attracts law firms, corporations, and governmental agencies throughout the country. All job fair participants must be fully vaccinated and present a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the fair. Medical and religious exemptions will be considered.  Contact CDO if you are registering so we can get you the liaison name.

AUGUST

Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference 
August 2, 2024

The Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference is a program of the Twin Cities Diversity in Practice organization and aims to hire 2L and 3L law students of color for law firms, corporations, and government agencies located in the Minnesota/St. Paul area. Approximately 25-35 employers will participate, including law firms of all sizes, corporate law departments, public interest, non-profit, and government entities. 

Student registration will open in May; student applications will be submitted in June.

National Black Prosecutors Association Job Fair
August 6, 2024
Boston, MA

The National Black Prosecutors Association (NBPA) is the only professional membership organization dedicated to the advancement of Blacks as prosecutors. Founded in 1983, the Association’s membership is comprised of both chief and line prosecutors nationwide. In addition to prosecutors, the association’s membership includes law students, former prosecutors, and law enforcement personnel. The NBPA hosts a conference as well as a job fair every year. 

The cost is free to register before July 1. After July 1, the fee is $25.00. Please read the letter to prospective attendees and visit the website for additional information.

Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair
August 7-9, 2024
Washington, DC

This career fair is part of the LGBT Conference and is designed to achieve a sense of community and inclusion for LGBT candidates within the legal profession’s recruiting efforts. Candidates will be able to talk to LGBT-friendly recruiters from law firms, government agencies, LGBT rights groups, and legal departments.

Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair

This job fair involves leading law firms, legal associations, and corporate legal departments coming together to increase participation of under-represented groups in the practice of law in Kansas City. It is designed to expose law students of diverse backgrounds to both traditional and non-traditional legal employers.

Delaware Minority Job Fair

The Delaware Minority Job Fair is hosted by the Delaware State Bar Association. Students should submit application materials directly to the Delaware Minority Job Fair Committee. Participation in the Job Fair is by invitation only and is based on those students who have been chosen by the greatest number of employers.

Northwest Minority Job Fair
On Hold Due to the Pandemic
Seattle, WA

Although this fair's focus is fostering access to employment opportunities for persons historically underrepresented in the practice of law, no student will be denied an opportunity to participate. Last year about 350 law students from law schools across the country participated, the majority of whom were second-year law students.
