2+2 Program

Earn your degree studying two years in Panama, two in the U.S.

Get a world-class education, international experience, and U.S. job eligibility while studying Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or a wide array of other disciplines.

The Program

Start your first two years in Panama and finish it your final two on Drake’s U.S.-based campus in Des Moines, Iowa, through our 2+2 Program. Students have the option to continue pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics or Artificial Intelligence, or choosing from many other Drake majors and minors, including Actuarial Science, Computer Science, International Business, and more. Students will have access to the full Drake campus experience, and the opportunity to apply their learnings in real-world settings through internships with prestigious companies. Following their final year of study on Drake’s campus, graduates may be eligible to work for one year via the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program, with the possibility of a two-year STEM extension (for up to three years of U.S.-based work experience) for qualifying majors.

Curriculum Overview

120 credits, earning a bachelor’s degree in a major of your choice.

First two years in Panama

  • Liberal Arts Curriculum (21 Credits)
    • Critical Thinking; Global and Cultural Understanding; Information, Quantitative, and Scientific Literacy; Values and Ethics; Written Communication
  • Courses in data analytics and AI (38 Credits)

Second two years at Drake University in the U.S.

  • Complete Major Courses (61 Credits)
    • Degree options include Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, and many other areas of study.
  • Internship opportunity with a U.S.-based company

 

Tuition and Applications

Drake University is committed to serving students of all backgrounds and incomes with the first two years being comparable in tuition cost to other Panamanian institutions. International students attending Drake in the U.S. are given the same tuition and scholarship opportunity as U.S. students, including a guaranteed Presidential Scholarship that covers up to 66% of your tuition costs and the potential for a need-based International Student Tuition Grant.
