Key Partners and Employers in Panama
Drake University’s connections in Panama extend well beyond the classroom and our alumni network. We work hand-in-hand with some of the country’s most influential businesses and organizations to create meaningful opportunities for students that create a lasting impact.

Senacyt
Panama’s National Secretariat for Science, Technology, and Innovation (Secretaría Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación), Senacyt plays a vital role in advancing research and STEM education. Drake is proud to partner with Senacyt to help close the talent gap in data science and AI by supporting Panama’s national artificial intelligence strategy and growth as a knowledge-based economy.

Ciudad del Saber
Ciudad Del Saber is not only home to Drake’s Panama location, it’s a thriving economic zone with dozens of leading-edge companies, training and research centers, NGOs, international organizations, and thousands of working science and technology professionals, and entrepreneurs—providing Drake students unparalleled access to research, internship and employment opportunities.

Banco General
As Panama’s largest financial institution, Banco General is a cornerstone of the nation’s economy. Drake alumnus Felipe Motta III is a senior leader at the company who has helped shape its forward-thinking approach to digital banking and customer experience. Drake and Banco General are working to formalize internship opportunities for future Drake students.

Motta Internacional
Led by Drake alumnus and CEO, Erasmo Orlliac, Motta Internacional is a family-owned company with more than 70 years of experience representing world-renowned brands through mass distribution and brand development in domestic markets, retail chains and luxury boutiques in local markets, and duty-free operations in the main airports and borders of the region. Operating strategically from Panama, it has positioned itself as one of the most prestigious companies in the region and will be partnering with Drake University for future student internship opportunities.

Maxia Latam
Located within Ciudad del Saber, Maxia Latam is a fast-growing technology company providing software, analytics, and AI solutions to both the public and private sectors. Its proximity to Drake’s location within Ciudad del Saber will create natural opportunities for students to engage in internships, project-based learning, and mentorship with one of Panama’s leading innovators. Drake and Maxia Latam are currently working to formalize these partnerships for future students.

Panamá Pacífico
Once a U.S. military base, Panamá Pacífico is now a thriving special economic zone that houses hundreds of international businesses across logistics, technology, and manufacturing sectors. Drake has successfully partnered with companies in Panamá Pacifico to offer internship opportunities in the past, and we are looking to expand those opportunities—especially in data analytics and AI—with leading employers committed to Panama’s economic future.
“At CASEM, we see Drake University’s Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence program as a transformative contribution to Panama’s future.”
“By equipping young professionals with cutting-edge skills in high-demand fields, this initiative directly strengthens the talent pipeline that multinational companies and local enterprises need to thrive. It also reflects the kind of academic-industry collaboration that positions Panama as a regional hub for innovation, competitiveness, and inclusive growth.”
