Getting Involved in the Community

Getting involved in the community has so many benefits for college students! It can be a way to form bonds and make friends, learn about the local community whether it is a new community or home, develop True Blue Skills, and much more.

Students can search for and sign up for volunteer opportunities at www.drake.edu/dugood. The Office of Community Engaged Learning is also hosting a workshop, open to any Drake student, on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 4pm where we will discuss values and our “why” and learn about ways to get connected to the local community. Students can register for this on DUgood.

The Office of Community Engaged Learning (CEL) offers 1-1 consultations on getting involved in the community, group workshops and events, mini-grant funding for CEL projects and more. Contact servicelearning@drake.edu.
