Face Masks & COVID-19 Precautions

All visitors are required to properly wear a mask, social distance, and practice good hygiene while on campus. 

Masks: Guests are required to bring, and properly wear, a face mask when visiting Drake's campus. Face masks must cover both your nose and mouth, including masks without an exhalation valve or face shields. Vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a mask when outside on the Drake campus. All Members of the Drake community and guests are required to wear a face covering when inside any Drake facility.

Please monitor your symptoms before arriving at Drake:
On the morning of your visit, if anyone in your party is experiencing one, or more, of the following symptoms listed below, please do not attend on campus events. 

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills or shaking
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Headache
  • Recent loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

While Drake University is taking all precautions to safeguard our community, we cannot eliminate the risk of COVID-19 exposure or infection on campus. You may learn more about Drake's response to COVID-19 at drake.edu/coronavirus. Please be reminded that you are visiting the Drake campus at your own risk. If any visitor shows symptoms and tests positive for COVID-19 within 48 hours of visiting campus, please report the information to the Orientation Team at (515) 271-2835 or orientation@drake.edu. Likewise, should a Drake student or staff member whom you meet during your visit contract COVID-19, we will contact you immediately.
