Important Dates for the Academic Year 2023-2024

New First Year & Transfer Student Move-In: Wednesday, August 23, 2023*

Returning Student Move-In: Friday, August, 25, 2023*
*Students will need to sign up for a move in time slot, emails will be sent to the students drake.edu email on August 1^st.

Winter Break All Halls Close: Saturday, December 16, 2023 at noon.

J-Term Housing: Only students who are enrolled in on-campus or partial on-campus J-Term courses, who have academic year residence hall assignments in a J-Term hall may return beginning Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 3:00pm. There are additional room and board charges for J-Term.

J-Term housing will end Saturday, January 27, 2024 at noon

Halls Open for Spring Semester: January 27, 2024 at noon.

Spring Break Closing (Carpenter, Crawford, Herriott, Stalnaker): Saturday, March 9, 2024 at noon.

Spring Break Opening (Carpenter, Crawford, Herriott, Stalnaker): Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 8:00 am.

Spring Semester Closing (Carpenter, Crawford, Herriott, Stalnaker): Friday, May 17, 2024 at 5:00 pm.

Spring Semester Closing (Goodwin-Kirk, Jewett): Sunday, May 19, 2024, at noon.

Interim Hall Opens: Friday, May 17, 2024 at 5:00 pm.

Meal Plan Changes: Students will receive an email to their drake.edu email with the directions on when and how to make changes to their meal plan. Students can change their meal plan selection online, the month that classes will begin, (Fall/August, Spring/January) through the first Thursday of classes for each term within the academic year. After this date has passed the meal plan cannot be changed. **
