If you're considering an undergraduate Nursing degree, enrolling in Army ROTC can enhance your leadership skills and critical thinking abilities while providing financial support to help make your professional goals a reality.
Drake University offers two options for earning your Bachelor of Science in Nursing by partnering with other Iowa colleges to allow you to earn two degrees in just four years. With both options, you would earn your Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Drake, and your BSN from either Mercy College of Health Sciences or Allen College. With the ROTC Nursing Scholarship, you are assessed into the Active Duty Army with a 4-year commitment, but you decide how to go about getting your degree.
All Scholarships Provide:
Some schools offer additional incentives for scholarship winners (i.e. free room and board, out of state tuition waivers, etc.)
Your total service obligation will be eight years (the first four years are active duty) At the completion of your four years you may elect to continue on active duty or enter the Army Reserves/National Guard for the remaining four years.
*Please note: Completing ROTC and receiving the ROTC Scholarship does not guarantee an Army nursing position after graduation. Graduates may be assigned to a different field depending on Army service needs. Graduates who complete the ROTC program are expected to fulfill their service obligation, regardless which position or field they are assigned.
