2021-22 Working Worldwide Kosovo Position Description (1): 

Job Title: Advisor to the Mayor for Special Projects

Site Location: City of Vushtrri, Kosovo

Organization Overview:

Vushtrri is a town and municipality located in the Mitrovica District in northern Kosovo. According to the 2011 census, the town of Vučitrn has 26,964 inhabitants, while the municipality has 69,870 inhabitants. Vučitrn is surrounded with the city of Mitrovica in the north, Podujevo in the east, Obilić in the south, Glogovac in the south-west, and Skenderaj in the west. The municipality of Vučitrn has 67 villages.

Mr. Xhafer Tahiri has served as Mayor of Vushtrri for 3 years.  He has worked in government for several years both as a Member of Parliament and as staff for Kosovo’s former President Atifete Jahjaga.  He has studied and lectured in the U.S. and is the former CEO of Industrial Property Agency of Kosova.

Job Description:

This is a position created specifically for this program.  The goal of this position is to work directly with the Mayor and his staff to do the work of the Mayor’s office.  The range of work could include everything from grant writing, to coordinating social media for the office, to project management and event coordination. This position will also be the direct liaison between the City of Norwalk (in Iowa) and Vurshtrri.  We have a sister city relationship and want the person in this position to direct our communication and assist in generating ideas for our cities to work on.

Job Duties:

• Work on grants
• Marketing/social media
• Project management
• Serve as a contact person for Vushtrri/Norwalk activities

Qualifications and Skills:

• Educational and/or practical experience in any of the following areas: Marketing, Non-Profit field, Communications, Political Science/Government and International Relations.
• Excellent writing and verbal skills (in English)
• Professional attitude and attire (as needed)
• Ability to speak within a diverse group of people
• A positive attitude and ability to be flexible

Other Job Details:

• Proposed Number of hours (weekly):
  • 35-40 hours a week (no weekend or evening work expected at this time unless related to events)
• Proposed Monthly Pay:
  • 500 Euros a month

2021-22 Working Worldwide Kosovo Position Description (2):

Job Title: Junior Marketing Consultant

Site Location: Ciao Berto (Store name); Near Vurshtrri, Kosovo 

Organization Overview:

The company was established in 1994 as a family business. Ciao Berto designs, produces and sells a broad collection of home furniture and accessories followed by PVC doors and windows. Since its foundation Ciao Berto has been continuously growing due to the excellent price to value ratio of its modern design products. Well trained staff, ethics, service-oriented attitude, innovation, industrial know-how, flexible solutions, modern production methods and integrated management of its value chain represent the points of strength that have made our company one of the most recognized furniture brands in Kosovo and abroad.

Job Description:

This position has been created specifically for this program.  Ciao Berto is interested to have insight from an American point of view on marketing to an American audience.  While most of the work will be geared towards a more European and/or local market, we are interested to know of the latest trends and advancements in marketing techniques.

Job Duties:

• Work on marketing pieces geared towards both a European market and separate pieces geared towards a U.S. market
• Create social media presence in other (U.S.) markets
• Offer ideas regarding the promotion and advancement of the Ciao Berto brand to include events.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education and/or experience in the marketing field
• Experience working with social media in a corporate setting
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Ability to be flexible (this position is new and we ask that you are flexible as figure out exactly all of the job duties that this position will actually cover)
• Positive attitude and good work ethic
