Musical Theatre Minor

Required Theatre Classes (19-20 credit hrs.):

THEA 003: Acting I, 3 credit hrs.
THEA 004: Acting II, 3 credit hrs.
THEA 014: Movement I, 2 credit hrs.
THEA 057: Dance for Theatre I, 3 credit hrs.
THEA 123: American Musical Theatre, 3 credit hrs.
THEA 138: Special Topics: Musical Theatre, 3 credit hrs. 

Plus ONE of the following Courses:

THEA 015: Movement II, 2 credit hrs.
THEA 020: Voice I, 2 credit hrs.
THEA 032: Stage Makeup, 3 credit hrs.

Required Music Classes (5-7 credit hrs.):

MUS 006: Piano Lab I, 1 credit hr.*
MUS 007: Piano Lab II, 1 credit hr.*
MUS 011: Fundamentals of Music, 3 credit hrs.
MUS 171: Voice Lessons I, 1 credit hr.
Voice Lessons II, 1 credit hr.

*NOTE: Students must demonstrate competency in piano equivalent to the completion of MUS 007. This may require students to take MUS 006 as a prerequisite depending on level of experience. Students proficient in piano beyond the level of MUS 007 are eligible to test out of the requirement entirely. All determinations regarding piano proficiency are at the discretion of the piano instructor.

Substitutions or other alterations to these requirements can be made with prior approval from a theatre advisor.
