Real-world experience. Lifelong support.

Career preparation doesn’t wait until graduation; it starts on day one. Whether you’re searching for your first internship or looking to land a job after graduation, we’re here to help you explore opportunities, gain experience, and build momentum toward your goals.

Drake students are known for their professionalism, talent, and readiness to contribute meaningfully to discussions and decisions. That’s why local employers regularly post internships and job openings just for Bulldogs.

Our Career Services team provides you with the tools, resources, and one-on-one support needed to find and apply for positions that match your interests and goals, no matter if you’re a first-year student or a Drake alum looking to change careers.

Current Students: Internships & Student Jobs

90.1% of undergraduate Drake students complete at least one internship before graduation—and many complete more than one! We’ll help you find roles that align with your goals, schedule, passions, and career interests.

We partner with local, national, and international organizations to offer internships and cooperative education experiences. Many of these opportunities are paid or eligible for academic credit.

Drake students can participate in short-term, paid professional projects through platforms like Parker Dewey. These platforms are designed to help you build your resume and try new career areas.

On- and off-campus job opportunities across a wide range of Drake departments and local businesses are posted on Handshake. Handshake is a comprehensive system providing both students and alumni access to employment opportunities, scheduling on-campus interviews, and browsing company profiles.

Handshake is accessible through myDrake. It is listed under Campus Resources.

Students who file their FAFSA and are eligible for Federal Work Study can apply for on-campus positions. Students eligible for Work Study will be given priority in the hiring process.

Current students can log into Big Interview using their Drake login credentials to get started.
