Background: Dick Hartig owns a chain of community pharmacies in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. His practice also includes a home health care firm, a long-term care company and a pharmacy benefits consulting group. He is a former Weaver Medal of Honor recipient from Drake University. He has received numerous local and regional awards for volunteerism and philanthropy. He currently serves on the Board of National Association of Chain Drug Stores.

Hartig has served Drake both as a member of the National Advisory Council for many years and as a member of Drake's President's Circle. Hartig earned both his Bachelors degree in Pharmacy and a Masters in Business Administration from Drake.

Hartig is married to Brenda and they have two sons Charlie and Wes. Their family resides in Dubuque, Iowa.
