Rick Knudson, PharmD, is a Clinical Pharmacy Executive Director for Mount Sinai Health System. In this role, he is responsible for corporate formulary management duties, including the coordination of an eight-person hospital system, coordination of clinical pharmacy program development across all hospitals, development and maintenance of clinical and financial impact analytics relative to budgetary responsibilities, facilitation of inter-disciplinary coordination for clinical programs and education, and management of pharmacy and supply chain interfaces with respect to drug contracts, wholesalers, etc.
Prior to joining Mount Sinai Health System, Dr. Knudson served as a director at Navigate Consulting, Inc. in Chicago, IL and at Premier, Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina. He also served as a Pharmacy Clinical Infectious Disease Specialist for Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, IA. Dr. Knudson served as a preceptor for students and/or an adjunct assistant professor at Drake University, the University of Iowa, and South Dakota State University from 1998 until 2004. He also oversaw residents at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, IA from 1999 until 2004.
Dr. Knudson has served on the CPHS DELTA Rx Advisory Board since 2007. He's also served on several committees and in leadership roles with the Iowa Pharmacy Association, the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists, and the American College of Clinical Pharmacists.
