When considering which pharmacy school to attend, prospective students strongly value the input and advice of Drake pharmacy alumni. To honor alumni loyalty and help you develop connections with prospective students, we are pleased to offer the Pharmacy Alumni Referral Scholarship program.  As a Drake alum, you know the quality of our students and graduates, and the difference they make with their patients, in their communities, and in the profession of pharmacy.  If you know someone who is thinking about pharmacy school but is completing their pre-pharmacy coursework outside of Drake, encourage them to apply to Drake and nominate them for one of our Pharmacy Alumni Referral Scholarships!

Our incoming first-year students, who come to us directly from high school, are awarded sizable scholarships for up to four years.  But, what about students that decide later in their educational career that they want to pursue pharmacy?  We want to make sure all of our students feel welcome and engaged at Drake, which includes helping them make their education more affordable.  You can help!  Maybe you know a great pharmacy technician who would make an outstanding pharmacist.  Perhaps you have a neighbor or family friend who is thinking about a career change.  If you refer an external applicant who is admitted and enrolls in our PharmD program, that student will be awarded a Pharmacy Alumni Referral  Scholarship!  What better way to help someone you know enter the profession of pharmacy!

If you wish to nominate a prospective student for a Pharmacy Alumni Referral Scholarship, please complete our online referral form.

• Referrals will be accepted for students who intend to enroll in pharmacy school within four years.
• The nomination deadline is August 1st of the year the student plans to enroll. 
• Nominated students who are admitted and enroll full-time in the Drake PharmD program will be awarded a Pharmacy Alumni Referral Scholarship of $4,000 ($1,000 per academic year).
• There is a limit of one Pharmacy Alumni Referral Scholarship per student, and the total of any combined PharmD scholarships may not exceed full-tuition.
• Referrals are not intended for parents of incoming students, although children of alumni are eligible to be nominated by another Drake pharmacy alumnus. 
• This scholarship is only available to students who are not completing their pharmacy prerequisite coursework at Drake.

Alumni may submit referrals for students intending to enter pharmacy school beginning in Fall 2020, as well as for future applicants.
