Virtual Code of Conduct

The Global Citizen Forum organizers are committed to fostering a safe, productive, and respectful environment for all conference participants and staff, free from discrimination, intimidation and harassment.

All participants, including attendees, presenters and staff members, and all others are expected to abide by this Virtual Conference Code of Conduct. This policy applies to all Global Citizen Forum conference-related events.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of discrimination, intimidation or harassment by participants or our staff. Individuals engaging in behavior prohibited by this policy, as well as those making allegations of harassment in bad faith, will be subject to disciplinary action, which may range from a simple warning to expulsion from this and future Global Citizen Forum events. If you experience harassment or hear of any incidents of unacceptable behavior during the conference, please notify global@drake.edu so that the conference organizers can take appropriate action.

Participants agree to follow these guidelines:

  • Behave professionally. Any form of harassment, including sexist, racist, or exclusionary comments or jokes are not appropriate. Harassment includes sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact, sexual attention or innuendo; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or in presentations; deliberate intimidation; stalking; and photography, screen shots or recording of any session activity without consent. It also includes offensive comments related to race, color, national origin, creed, religion, age, disability, sex, pregnancy, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, genetic information, veteran status, physical appearance or body size, or any characteristic protected by law.
  • Be considerate and respectful to others. Do not insult or put down other attendees. Critique ideas rather than individuals.
  • No solicitation or advertising. Presentations, general postings, and messages should not contain advertising, promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation for services. The Global Citizen Forum staff reserves the right to remove such messages.

Parts of this policy are based on the Drake University Nondiscrimination Statement and Codes of Conduct originally created by the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).

Please send any questions, concerns or suggestions to global@drake.edu.
