Understanding that student success depends on faculty success, the DPAA encourages faculty success in pedagogy, research and creative arts, and university service-leadership. Building on a model of work-life integration, the DPAA offers programming to assist faculty and staff in thriving as members of our university community.
In service of the mission of the university, the Deputy Provost for Academic Affairs hosts and facilitates conversation and action to integrate strategic initiatives like the Drake Curriculum and all of its components, grant-seeking, and foundation-support, and graduate enrollment initiatives and management, with university commitments to digital proficiency, internationalization, and diversity-equity-inclusion-justice.
Drake’s Mission is to provide an exceptional learning environment that prepares students for meaningful personal lives, professional accomplishments, and responsible global citizenship.
The Drake experience is distinguished by collaborative learning among students, faculty, and staff and by the integration of the liberal arts and sciences with professional preparation.
Our inspiration is that together we transform lives and strengthen communities.
Drake’s core values are joyful accountability, generosity of spirit, understanding that we are “all in this together,” and supportive of our Mission.
