Events

The Baum Professorship is hosting and co-hosting several events that contribute to faculty and staff professional development.  In June and July, these included a workshop on Mindfulness and Ethical Leadership in Uncertain Times facilitate by RenĂ©e Cramer, as well as  workshop on course design and effective pedagogy facilitated by Kevin Gannon.   Recordings of these events can be found on the Center for Teaching Excellence website.

In August, we will reprise the workshop on Mindfulness and Ethical Leadership in Uncertain Times,  and host the Learning Symposium, featuring Nathan Grawe and Christopher Nayve as speakers - and offering ample time for reflection and forward-thinking planning.

For fall 2020, we are planning a faculty-staff reading group on Radical Hope: A Teaching Manifesto and hoping to arrange a virtual visit mid-semester from Rhonda Magee.

Spring 2021 will see a culmination of much of this work, in the form of the triennial Baum Symposium - watch this space for details!
