January-Term Travel Seminars

Honors students who register for a J-Term Travel Seminar course that is cross listed with Honors may count that course as an Honors elective. Students should keep in mind the maximum for credits from one discipline and the study abroad maximum of 3 study abroad credits per semester. No more than six (6) study abroad credits may be applied towards the Honors Track in total. Registration for J-Term is done via Global Engagement's Terra Dotta system.

Some J-Term courses, by their nature, are interdisciplinary and often sustain interdisciplinary learning and inquiry. Such courses may offer Honors students opportunities to engage in a special project aimed at meeting honors study abroad.

Faculty who wish to have their J-Term courses approved for Honors Track Elective credit may submit a proposal here. Alternatively, students may undertake an independent interdisciplinary project rooted in their J-Term course by developing a project, obtaining J-Term course instructor approval, and submitting a proposal here for Honors Director approval. Information about the requirements and process may be found here (link coming).
