Welcome to Drake!  Our goal is to provide you with the tools and resources necessary to ensure a pleasant onboarding experience and a successful transition in your new role.

‌‌On or Before Your First Day

Human Resources - Required Paperwork

Stop by Human Resources on the third floor of Old Main to demonstrate employment eligibility on or before your first day of employment. 

I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification form: This is required of all employees who begin employment in the United States. To ensure you provide appropriate documentation, please reference the List of Acceptable Documents for I-9. By completing the form and presenting acceptable, original documents as defined by the U.S.C.I.S., your identity and employment is authorized.

To streamline your onboarding, we have compiled several required forms for you.  The forms may be printed and completed prior to coming to Human Resources.

Authorization to Mail Check Form, This form is required as part of the process to establish Direct Deposit.

Student Services - ID card and more

To obtain your Drake ID card, swing by Student Services located in the Olmsted Center. You can also acquire a parking hang-tag, office keys and add funds to your ID card for purchasing items and meals.

During Your First Few Days

Password/Multi-Factor Authentication

Before you can access email, myDrake or other campus systems, you must change your default password and set up MFA. Here are Password change instructions or contact ITS at 515-271-3001 for assistance.

Direct Deposit

In addition to the completed onboarding forms, employees are required to use direct deposit which is available online.  Direct deposit instructions are provided in your welcome email.  Please note, for your security, we require that employees are connected to the Drake University network to enter  banking information. 

Your first paycheck will be a physical check which will be mailed to your home address. If you prefer to acquire this paycheck in person, please contact Payroll at 515-271-3190.

During your First 30 Days

Within your first 30 days, you will sign up to attend a New Hire Orientation by emailing drakehr@drake.edu. Information regarding Drake-sponsored benefits, wellness and the Drake community will be provided. Orientation will conclude with lunch.
