Student Organization & Programming Awards Nomination

 

Outstanding Organization Award- Given to a University-recognized student organization that has shown an overall level of excellence in its members, programs, and services during the academic year. The organization supports the leadership development of its members, seeks opportunities to collaborate with other student organizations and/or University departments, and positively contributes to the Drake university community.

Drake Service Award:Organization - Given to a student organization or group that have demonstrated commitment to build up relationships in communities of which they are a part through the depth and/or breadth of their involvements. This organization has provided meaningful service that has strengthened relationships between Drake University and the Greater Des Moines community. All community service projects, activities, etc should have been completed during the 2015-2016 school year.

Outstanding Educational Program Award- This award is presented to the University-recognized student organization who created a program(s) that encouraged the Drake community’s growth of knowledge, understanding, or skill on any issue, topic, or subject.

Outstanding Social Program Award- This award is given to an organization that provides positive social interaction between students, demonstrates strategic planning and creativity, utilizes excellent publicity techniques to reach targeted audience, and provides a fun opportunity for a significant number of Drake University students.

Outstanding Diversity Program Award- Presented to an organization that has demonstrated outstanding leadership on issues central to intercultural understanding. The award recognizes efforts of a program that has enhances campus climate related to race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, culture, or disability and had promoted, developed, or supported educational opportunities related to diversity for the Drake community.

Outstanding Weekend Alcohol Alternative Program Award- This award honors a student organization that demonstrated, through a program, event, or awareness campaign, a continuing commitment to engaging students in an environment that provides an alternative to alcohol

Outstanding Collaboration Award: This award recognizes collaborations among two or more student organizations or groups. The cosponsored program, project, or initiative should have been a new effort, one that brought together different facets of campus and which served to build and strengthen the campus community. New in 2016
