Why order through the Online Bookstore?

We are your university’s official bookstore. By ordering through the Online Bookstore, we guarantee you will receive the correct professor-selected course materials for your classes. We also offer a price match guarantee on new, used, and rental textbooks to give you peace of mind and serve as your one-stop shop. Our dedicated customer service department is available via phone, email, and chat to answer any questions you may have. Finally, we monitor all orders daily to ensure you receive books as quickly as possible and before the start of class. 

Do I have to order my books online?

Yes. The Bulldog Shop no longer carries physical textbooks on shelves. Course material ordering has now moved online with convenient shipping options to campus or home. 

Why are there no textbooks listed for my class?

If you do not see a textbook listed for a particular class, this could be because either there is no text required for the course or the instructor has not yet made a textbook decision. You will need to check back periodically to see if a book has been added. 

Amazon textbook rentals vs. Books by eCampus rental textbooks - what’s the difference? 

As of April 1, 2023, Amazon no longer offers textbook rentals. Don’t waste time searching. Rent textbooks through your official online bookstore for the guaranteed best price, convenient shipping to home or campus, and an easy return policy - just drop it off at the Bulldog Shop!  

Will textbook prices change?

The Online Bookstore’s goal is to offer students the most competitive price for their textbook purchases. With our competitive pricing model, textbook prices are subject to change based on market prices and inventory conditions. 

What are Marketplace books?

Marketplace books are items listed and shipped by individual sellers, such as other students and parents. These sellers must confirm your order within three business days. Each marketplace book has its own condition description and shipping cost associated, so please be sure to read the item’s description before ordering. Not all marketplace items are available for expedited shipping and these items will arrive separately from the rest of your order. 

When will my books be shipped?

Books are shipped based on availability. The availability of each book will be indicated under the condition of each item. If a book is in stock and your order is placed before 4 PM EST, it will ship same day. Any orders placed after 4 PM EST will ship the next business day. If all items are not in stock, your order will ship complete. This means the order will be held and shipped once the entire order is filled. If the order has not yet been filled and it is within two weeks of the course start date, items will ship as they become available and you may receive multiple packages. Your books will be shipped via your selected shipping method and delivered Monday through Friday. 

Where will my books be shipped?

You may ship your order anywhere you choose. When entering shipping information, you will have the option to check the “Ship to Campus” box to ship directly to your campus. You will receive email and text message alerts (if you choose to opt-in) when your package is received and ready for pickup. 

How will I know when my order is ready?

Once your order is placed, we communicate via automated emails to the email address (which is your username) on your Drake University Online Bookstore account. 

  • Order confirmation – usually sent within an hour and includes the order number.
  • Shipment confirmation – includes tracking information. If the full order is not shipping together, you will receive more than one shipment confirmation email. Each email updates you on the item(s) that has shipped but will not reference any others. You get updates on those as they ship.

In order to ensure that these emails are delivered to you, we suggest that you add bookstore@ecampus.com and einfo@email.ecampus.com to your email safe list. This ensures that our emails are delivered to your inbox (not Spam) so you have the information you need.

What do I need to present in order to pick up my order in store?

If you placed an order online and selected the “Ship to Campus” option, you will receive an email confirmation once your order is ready for in-store pickup. Here’s what you’ll need: 

  1. Pickup confirmation via email or text
  2. Order number
  3. Name associated with the order

What happens when I order a digital book?

If an eTextbook is available for the title you are looking for, the option to add it to the cart appears. You choose the length of your subscription (on books you read online) depending on how long you need the book. If you choose anything other than Lifetime Access, you will only have access to the book for the amount of time specified. If the book is one that is downloaded, you have unlimited access.

You are emailed information on how to access your eTextbook as soon as your order has been processed in our system. After placing your order, your digital product will be added to your My Account Digital Bookshelf within 24 hours.

How do I order my books if they are being paid for by an agency?

After the agency has contacted Drake University Student Financial Services funds will be added to your Online Bookstore account. You will receive an email alerting you once the funds are ready to be used. These funds can be applied to your purchase on the payment screen after you have added items to your Online Bookstore cart.

Why do I need to enter credit card info if I am paying with store credit or via an agency?

If you are renting any of your textbooks, a credit card is required to keep on file as collateral. In the event that your rental book is not returned by the rental return date or is returned damaged, your card will be charged the price of a new copy. The card must have an expiration date that is beyond the rental return date to be accepted. If the rental textbooks are returned to us on time and in good condition, this credit card will not be charged. 

When does my credit card get charged?

Your credit card will be authorized and charged upon placing your order. If you are renting books, your card will remain on file in case the rented items are not returned in saleable condition or not returned at all. 

Do you take debit cards? What credit cards do you take?

Yes, we do take debit cards, as long as they have the VISA or MasterCard logo. We also accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay, financial aid, and Bulldog Bucks for payment of online purchases. 

 

What if I don’t have a debit/credit card; can I still order?

Yes, but either you or someone on your behalf will need to visit the physical location of the University Store at Drake University to purchase eCampus store credit with cash or check at the cash register. After purchasing, it can take up to two hours for the credit to arrive on your eCampus account.

Also, if you have a family member that wants to help pay for your books, they can purchase a Books by eCampus e-Gift Card by visiting the Online Bookstore at drake.ecampus.com and selecting “Gift Cards” at the bottom of the screen under “Textbooks”. Please note – these gift cards are for use on the Online Bookstore only. 

How do I apply a price match to my online order?

We will price match a new, used, or rental textbook within 7 days of purchase from your online bookstore. Claims can only be submitted for in-stock textbook purchases placed by students affiliated with the school. Before submitting your request, please review the following details and exclusions here

Where can I find my order information, order status, etc.?

Select “My Account” at the top-right corner of the Drake University Online Bookstore. After signing in to your account, you can check the status of your order, buyback, or return.

Who do I need to contact with questions regarding orders?

How do I sell my textbooks back to the Drake University Online Bookstore?

Representatives from the Online Bookstore will be on site at the end of each semester for you to return rentals and sell your textbooks for cash. You can also sell textbooks online 24/7. Go to the Online Bookstore website at drake.ecampus.com. 

  1. Select the Sell Textbooks button.
  2. Enter the ISBNs of the books you wish to sell (up to 8 at a time) and select Get Quote.
  3. You can select whether you want to receive a check, direct deposit, or in-store credit. 
    1. If in-store credit is selected, an additional bonus will be added to the buyback amount. The credit will be available on the payment screen when future orders are placed. 
  4. Select the textbooks you wish to sell back and choose Sell This Book
  5. Enter your login information or continue as a New Customer if this is your first time selling back. 
  6. Select the method of payment you would like to receive. 
  7. Print your free UPS label and stick it on the box in which you will ship your books. 
    1. Be sure you take the books to a UPS location and NOT the post office. 
  8. Wait for your payment! 
    1. Checks and direct deposit may take up to 4-6 business days. 
    2. In-store credit should be available within 3-5 business days of delivery to our warehouse.
