Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa

There are two Boys & Girls Club of Central Iowa opportunities at Drake University. Both scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students (including those enrolled in Bright College) at Drake University who participated as a club member in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa. Preference will be given to members of the Greg and Suzie Burt Club at Drake University. 

Jane and John Evans Scholarship

Jane and John Evans Scholarship provides renewable scholarships ranging from $2,500-$7,000, per year, applied towards undergraduate tuition. 

Kelly Caldbeck and Ted Thoms Scholarship

The Kelly Caldbeck and Ted Thoms Scholarship provides a renewable scholarship of $1,000, per year, applied towards undergraduate tuition. 


Application Instructions

The priority deadline to apply for these scholarships is January 22, 2026. The application will remain open until May 1, 2026 and applications will be considered if funds are available.

To be considered for these scholarships you must:

  • Complete an application to Drake and be admitted to the University
  • Complete the Boys and Girls Club of Central Iowa Scholarship Application

Recipients who apply by the priority deadline will be notified by March 20, 2026. 


Undergraduate scholarships are available only to students enrolled at the undergraduate level, for up to 4 years total or until a Bachelor's degree is earned (whichever comes first). Students entering one of Drake's joint undergraduate/graduate degree paths should refer to Program-Specific Policies to understand which years are designated as undergraduate-level for billing and financial aid purposes. Scholarships will renew automatically if all renewal requirements are satisfied.
