Tuesday, March 17th, 2020

Drake University’s pharmacy program, part of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, improved its ranking among private school programs from a fifth-place tie in 2017 to a fourth-place tie in the 2021 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Graduate Schools.” Drake’s score in the rankings increased from 2.9 to 3.2 on a 5-point scale.

The U.S. News & World Report rankings for pharmacy schools are based exclusively on ratings from academic representatives at schools of pharmacy across the U.S. Deans and department chairs from more than 135 colleges and schools of pharmacy were surveyed for the 2021 rankings. In the overall rankings, which are dominated by large, public research institutions, Drake improved its ranking from 47th to 46th.

“This improved ranking recognizes our national reputation and the achievements of our talented pharmacy faculty, staff, students, and alumni,” said Renae Chesnut, dean of the college. “This provides further evidence that we are achieving our mission of preparing today’s learners to be tomorrow’s health care leaders.”

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences provides an intellectually stimulating learning environment with collaborative learning among students, faculty, and staff. Graduates are liberally educated professionals who are dedicated to serving their clients, patients, profession, and community. The college emphasizes excellence and leadership in professional education, service, and scholarship.
